Wasn't it Len Cram? Maybe we should find that thread on the old forum and move it here if it hasn't been moved already. We also discussed opal teeth, and that was fun so maybe we should try to find them.
On my old computer I had an article on what they found after Mt St Helen's erupted, and it said that trees that ended up in water filled cavities underground after the blast were already opalized, and they were only there a matter of years, so I agree that under certain conditions that provide the right temperature and pressure, opalization can occur a lot faster than science tells us. As a Christian I take it as a matter of fact that it doesn't take millions of years to form anyway.
