Miners Use “The Blower” To Extract 475 Grams of Opal! | Outback Opal H

Post by PinkDiamond »

Steve sent this to me, and it's by Discovery Channel Australia, but it's on FB, not YT so I can't embed it for you. Regardless of that and my aversion to FB, it's definitely worth watching this 6+ minute video so check it out. Nice haul! 8-)

Nice find indeed .. to my surprise they put quite low value on it -- I mean more realistic then they usually do ;)

That's really nice rough, and that opal is a real winner with such bright color, and that's what it does when it's not even in sunlight so put your sunglasses on before taking it outside. Nice work OS, and thanks for sharing it with us. Can't wait to see how the others turn out. 8-)

Thats a nice one. I cant wait to be cutting again. Retirement is a lot harder when you work from home instead of cleaning out your cubicle. That and estates keep coming up. I'll never get to what all I have to cut let alone ever sell it. Even on claims Im cutting back, not sold out, which I would rather. So Im looking at having to price cut to even get any action. The ladies at "Opal carving" were severely unimpressed with "gambling" on Ethiopian or volcanic opals, yet loved the Shewa which I considered a lot more crazy than Wollo unless it was cut with a rhyolite backing. The school is on my bucket list to remove all those nasty Virgin Valley habits that define me. Forum members need to look me up when vacationing here or your loss.

Sweet, OS, but be careful. That little ball of sunshine is such a lemony neon yellow it could hurt your eyes. 8-)
