This guy wants over $100 for this parcel from Canada. What am I missing here? There's nothing cuttable that I can see...

Specimen value on rarity? Good black opal you cant see to be cut out? What is it 3 dollars and 64 cents and oz. I would not expect anything as good from australia LOL

Just to clarify. I don't want to disparage the guy. This is a question for knowledge's sake. To me this looks like a piece of rubbish. Even $3 an oz it too much. So I'm wondering what my untrained eye is missing. It doesn't look like there's any good black opal in this to be cut out. Also, it is hydrophane so it'll most likely crumble. Even piece that's even a bit larger on this is already cracked. And yes, I know that there is stable hydrophane, but this doesn't look like it here.

Looks like junk to me. Rockranger would be the best to ask.

For rock collections only, I wouldn't cut it...

I saw them on fb, they are in one of the feeds I belong to. I would have to agree with brightlights, and go with just a rock collection package. They have pulled some nice stuff out, if you scroll down there page, but that's not it. I cant see myself wasting any time trying to cut something from it, if it where nodules, different story.
I have a lot of that around as garden filler. :) hope that helps KJ.
