Very, very bad day

So about a week ago the buyers on our house pulled out. Turns out there are foundation issues and a hail damage on the roof that we were unaware of. So we had to put the house back on the market. We have the foundation repair here tomorrow and we've gotten the insurance adjuster out for the roof. That's going to be a complete replacement. It's been very stressful and we might lose the house that we started buying here.

Well... today we had an open house so hubby took the dogs to the park. And... our English Bulldog died from heatstroke. It's just... too much.

So sorry about your puppy! The rest will work itself out, but coming all at once - yes that's hard to take.

My cheek lay upon a pillow wet with tears as I rode upon waves of grief and guilt. Sorrow clutched at my chest and throat as I felt the weight of my failure. I am so sorry my beautiful bulldog. It was my job to keep you safe and I failed.

As I drifted off to sleep I had a vision of delicate white and yellow flowers. White for your purity of spirit for you never met anyone you didn't love. Yellow for your brightness of spirit for you were eternally exuberant. And delicate for the brevity of your precious life. You deserved much better. I do take comfort in knowing that you enjoyed your life and that you were loved and that you knew love.

Goodnight my sweet Champ. I'll miss you.

Oh my gosh KJ, I am SO sorry to hear about the pup, and pray that the house repairs won't cost you the house you want to buy. We're all rooting for you and share your sorrow. But we can hope that your sweet little Champ will be waiting at the rainbow bridge with our other beloved pets when we all get there, and what a joyful reunion that will be. Please don't blame yourself because this was not something you could have foreseen. BIG hug KJ. ;)

Sending hugs KJ. So very sorry to hear . . . about everything. Just remember how strong you are. We may not understand why things happen, but we must believe they were meant to be.

Awww. Sad to hear about the trials you've got. Nobody knows what DNA hides in us for a surprise later. Fingers crossed you find new buyers yesterday.

Sorry about the puppy, the house, every now & then we are thrown a little sour with the sweet & one has to just hang in & systemically take each thorn from your foot & continue on. You seem to have friends on this site who can give support/advise if needed, I think I can do that too-steve... :( :(

Thanks y'all. I actually had to take a personal day from work as I was far too distraught. I know y'all are pet lovers here so knew you'd understand. My heart still hurts. :( It just wasn't right. He shouldn't have had to pay the price.
