This Ethiopian opal contained an interesting inclusion scene consisting of a string of octahedral pyrite crystals and aragonite spheres. An old blurb from GIA.
Thanks! I did see the picture you've posted. Here's a microscopic image of the second opal. Is this dendrite?
dendrites are not 'organic' inclusions so they are not real fossils they are crystals of manganese which grow the same way like snowflake (and other stuff in nature) in most cases they form 2D trees but in dendritic agate they are 3D and might look a bit similar to the photo you posted
here is Welo from my collection with unusual inclusions >
*btw. this is stable hydrophane Welo which is different to the 'new' non-hydrophane material
hope this helps
Thanks! I know what dendrite is. Here is my image of dendrite in Dominican amber
Your opal is vey nice but I doubt these inclusions are organic. I believe these are minerals, maybe dendrites too. The inclusions look too uniform to be organic IMO.

That's a real beauty, Mila. You find some interesting opals, for sure.

- to me this looks organic although I don't know what they are - but I don't think they are crystals *the video title is for people to find it - because the 'roots / twigs' is most common type of inclusion found in Welo opal here is macro photo with a bit more details then in the video --- it reminds me seaweed floating in the opal
- and they are not dendrites - which in opals form 'normal' tree like crystals
I polished this rough but kept the dendrites on the back
** I don't have video but I'll make it and post it later when I find some time
here is link to my old post about Welo inclusions with some other examples - the photos are old and not best quality viewtopic.php?f=14&t=91&hilit=odyssey
btw. it's believed that roots & twigs inclusions are not real fossils but opal replacements --- although there was report about Welo with bug inclusion ( it should be somewhere on the forum )
btw2. nice macro shots
hope this helps cheers

Thank you! Very nice opals! A bug was found in Indonesian opal. I have nor heard about any one found in Welo.
