WIP Leopard etc

Post by KKHK »

Snow Leopard it is not really, but who is counting. :) Too many muscle-tones through natural design as well as re-enforced through cutting. At hand, I'm really happy with the powerful body. Leaving the rind natural as a color-variation for the piece. A little bit every day, so will see if a head comes out of that.

The stone is perfect for snake and this creature. Tomorrow will be the second front paw and separating it visibly from the body. The head has hardly any markers left (only nose and snout, as well as a little on the ear in the lower pics). So its basically there, but does not stand out enough. Will try to lower the level between shoulder and head a bit tomorrow. Maybe then it will stand out more.

With the remains from that Albino slab, there is just one more snake in there. Tighter format and head less turned.

A small present for a student who did exceptionally well in last weeks exam.

And a quick looksy under the hood of the next FA-project.

Thanks for looking, Kurt

Nice! Before you cut the leopard out of the piece, the rock looked like an arm.

LOVE the leopard, and hope you can adjust it to make the face stand out more. The snake is adorable, and I love the light coral pattern. Way cool, but that student is really lucky because those earrings are fantastic! Love the way you emphasized the landscape scenes. :!:

The FA looks promising and should produce another spectacular carving. You're a fast worker with the leopard and snake, Kurt. Can't wait to see how the FA comes out. :)

:) :) :) KJ

Its a pendant (showing back and front). Would be a bit heavy for a 10 year old. :) :)
FA will take a while, will take it with me to China for the summer-camp in a bit over a week.
