Re: Slow Opal
That's very nice and it looks like it's got peach or gold in it.

Re: Slow Opal
I have some Coober Pedy rough that I plan to work on next...not done yet...lol...
But, here is are three pics of it. 70 plus carats. Should be (ha ha ha) big enough for one or two stones. But I don't want to get ahead of myself, cuz I been down that road before.
anyway, below are three pics of that rough. Color shows up on the back side too, but only when wet now, so at least some of the red/orange/blue goes all the way through...

Re: Slow Opal
There's a LOT of stuff I don't know yet about this piece.....like....is it going to face? and which side should I try to face? and does in fact the color go all the way through?
And, am I good enough to cut a nice stone by hand? I mean...lol...I ask myself this on every stone, and less now than at first once in a while I am in fact not good enough...yet...lol.... Hey, its just time and money and effort...(he said with both anticipation and brutal humor!).

Re: Slow Opal
LOL! You'll do fine with it I'm sure, and if it's a good one then great, but if not it's more experience for you and I'm sure you'll coax whatever color is in there out of it. Good luck and happy cutting.
