Sorry, but I'm so proud I have to gush

Post by PinkDiamond »

My daughter, like myself, is not a college grad. In my day, it didn't hold me back, but in today's high tech world, she found herself unable to get out of the secretarial workforce, working under corporate bigwigs who often looked down their noses at her; though of course not all.

She had one boss over her who really looked out for her, and allowed her to learn the *********** program on her own. She loved it and thrived, but was still held back by that pesky old lack of a sheepskin, which translates into her doing the same work as people with higher titles and pay grades, without getting the same benefits.

The former boss had moved on, and she essentially carved out a new position for herself, and soon became so well versed in the program that she was leading the way, and lo and behold, her current bosses took notice, and said, 'well this isn't fair', and despite there not being enough in the budget for a raise and promotion, they finagled things to make it happen for her because they saw she deserved it, and I couldn't be prouder. :D

And there's icing on the cake, too. When they did her review, and told her about the raise in title and pay grade, they also told her she was getting an award, which is apparently to be presented to her at their next event.

So if you can see a really bright beacon of light coming from Arkansas, don't worry.

It's just me beaming.

That's great Pink!
It's really nice to hear that in this world today, someone can actually get paid and recognized as per their merits.

If you work hard, and do the right thing as you go, you should be rewarded, but we all know that is not usually how the real world works, so good for her Pink :)

That old more responsibility, same pay and same title thing is the story of my life, lol

Wonderful. Congratulations to your daughter Pink! I'm going outside now to look southeast.

Thanks so much y'all, and good question, Lydia. She works at their corporate office, and now that she's working in whatever department it is, she can't discuss anything about her job with me anymore. Image

Although I don't know its purpose, she said she had to tailor it for use in whichever department she's working in, but since she's unable to discuss her work, I don't have a clue as to what it does. I just know that learning it is serving her well right now, and that's all I need to know. :D
