Yes, when it's soaking it often goes clear. And then when it dries out it becomes cloudy. THEN, after REALLY drying, sometimes it stays cloudy and sometimes it returns to the original color.

new knowledge i got today, When Welo opal absorbs water...
1. Crystal opal ---> Opaque (hydrophane)
2. Opaque opal ---> Crystal opal (inverse hydrophane most welo..)
does Shewa and the less common Gondar opal acts the same as Welo too?
