14-Carat Pink Diamond Recovered in Lesotho

This is fantastic that Lesotho has unearthed a few pink diamonds now that the Argyle is defunct and no longer operational, but I'm reserving my opinion on the color of this one since it's being shaded by the loupe in the photo, so I hope we get to see it cut so we can see exactly how pink it is. Then I'll let you know if it lives up to the PinkDiamond standard :lol: , but no matter what, it's way cool to find another pink one; especially one this size. 8-)

"London—The Letšeng diamond mine in Lesotho has yielded another sizable pink diamond.

Gem Diamonds, which operates the mine in partnership with the Lesotho government, announced on its website that it recovered a 14.09-carat Type II pink diamond of “top quality” on Nov. 24.

The 14-carat diamond is the second 10-carat-plus pink pulled from the mine this year.

The first was a 13-carat stone recovered in the same five-day span as five large colorless diamonds.

The mining company sold that diamond for $40,110 per carat, or about ... "

Nice. You know they could never have mined out the lost Golconda district with a river thru it in India either by hand.
