The sad part of that whole thing was that I gave up my high bid on that opal to get it sent out and studied for the scientific information. It took so long and then took longer to get it relisted that when Opalethiopia finally got around to putting it back up, I wasn't on the board to catch that it was back in play. So, my Karma didn't help me with that. 
But, I'm still glad we got to learn more about it with all of GemAddicts Close ups and the discussion of plumes in the Welo opal.
