RIP Gene Newnham
Aww. People keep passing away. A beloved fellow member of Klamath Falls Rock & Arrowhead Club. Thats a problem of being in a lot of organizations with a lot of members. Gene Newnham, one of the two rockhounds/miners who rediscovered the lost Juniper Ridge Opal deposit. It was later opened as the Broken Chisel Opal Mine which ended up being marketed as Oregon Fire Opal internationally and is still sold and mined today from several locations in that area. His nephew Chuck being one of them and the original miner.
