Hello again from Ontario, Canada

For those of you who remember me from the old forum, hello again! I've missed you guys.
I'm a wife and mom of 2 (almost) grown kids, work full time, and in the evenings moonlight as an artist and jewelry designer. As long as I can remember I had a love for all things shiny, especially opals. Growing up they were simply out of reach for me and I remember wishing I could some day work with them. That dream came true a few years ago when I purchased my first piece of rough off ebay and polished it (more or less
) using different grades of sand paper and elbow grease. Hence started my addiction.
In the near future I hope to set some opals in my own jewelry, when I find time and energy.

Yes, George is up there, as is Rockranger, although he hasn't been by in a month of Sundays, and Chris is in Nova Scotia, off the top of my head, but I think we have a few others, too.

Maybe on another thread.Yup, I'm in Nova Scotia Canada, you know, where all the lobsters and fishing villages are, haha.

No problem, Chris! East coast is on my list of places to visit, hopefully soon. and thank you, PinkDiamond, I think I remember Rockranger, not sure about George. I'll figure them out eventually

I am rather new here myself, but I think you will be pleased with your decision to join the forum. I know I am glad I did, I normally don't join Forums but there are a lot of talented people on this site. Your affair with Gems, irregardless if you are involved with cabs or faceted will be an interesting journey and really rewarding.
