Don't Let Them Steal Your Joy

From the ISG, Robert James is saying pretty much the same thing I said yesterday in another thread; this too, will pass.
Don't Let Them Steal Your Joy
Editor's Note: I posted this short letter on Facebook last week and the response has been amazing. I am putting it into our newsletter today because as day's go by it seem more and more important that people hear this....perhaps for the second time. Rj
Today I am in the final stages of finishing the new ISG office, and once again started the day with the dramatic and panic-stricken stock market reports of the heinous “Coronavirus” that is being so widely touted. For all of you too young to remember, I wanted to put this situation in perspective in hopes that it might allay some fear that the media seems determined to create. While this virus is dangerous, so are measles, chickenpox and the mumps which used to simply be childhood diseases that we all got. It was just a part of growing up that you would get these, become immune and move on. I had all three as did every childhood friend I know. It was just part of growing up for generations. But years ago we had even more to deal with….
I remember standing in line as a child to get the sugar cube containing the vaccine for Polio and got the multiple needle pricks that gave me the smallpox vaccine. These were diseases that caused great harm and hardship around the world, and yet we moved forward and prevailed. Over the years we have all experienced the world with AIDS, Ebola and SARS. These things are part of living in a world where people easily and readily intermix around the world.
This is not to take away from the importance of preventing and dealing with this new player, Coronavirus, from the world of virus infections. However, I hope those too young to remember the history of dealing with these things will know that they do pass, and life goes on.
I find it unfortunate that the media is creating such panic that is causing so many to have intense fear and dread.
The world is not ending. Solutions will be found. Life will go on. Don’t let this situation steal your joy.
