Re: Made an equipment score
I try to constantly highgrade and keep it moving except all that low grade does not move LOL. I've got a rocky daughter, & her kids grandaughter 11- grandson 3 so far, Son will take all the other pioneer equipment. My niece is a collector and I tend to gift the further away ones crystals and Jewelery. Who knows if those will fruit into fruitcakes like us. Mt club is 200 miles and i dont go often. I give a free seminar at the fee dig and go to one of my claims the next day free every year to add value to my club and i donate everywhere, charity table, door prizes, lottery case. Get to go home lighter by hook or crook.

WOO HOO !! Just took the bead mill apart. The machine is brand new. The pot & wear plate are still shiny from the original machining. How's that for a machine built in the early 70's ?

Are you going to go into the business of making beads, or resell it?

I haven't learned to not start new projects before the old was completed yet. (Wheres that needle gun i have to un jam? It got a bit of grit? in its orifice the second time i used it somehow, even using bottled water. Oh yeah I have only one hand for a month or more - at least 2 weeks before the bandages come off to check the job.) Gots a few real cute Drusy from the Amethyst Sage dig i just did that needs cleaned. Most of my problem is getting the value over slabbing rough price for the exquisite cabinet specimens I seem to find. Like the opals here. Sure you used to be able to buy black chunks out of tubs cheap, but those were chunks and are not the killer casts or cores that deserve their own domes. That mine does not get much now, so no tubs.

Re: Made an equipment score
I just saw an auction listing down the road for saturday... It said lapidary saw and tumblers... Looking at the pictures seem to indicate the guy would slice up his rocks on a little 6" trim and then he had seperate tumbler for his 5 different grits!!!! (triple barrel for the first stage! - in the pictures he has them labeled and dates that I would assume are when it started the batches.) So now I'm trying to figure out if I should go or just finally admit that my own 3 tumblers are enough.
Only the kids really use them, and occasionally I'll tumble a piece of jewelry... but 5 more!!!
hopefully someone really needing them will get them. because I know If I don't go, I'll probably get a call in a few weeks for somone asking me what they are worth and who to sell them to! (And I'll kick myself when I find out how little they paid! SIGH...)

The story of my life. So much beautiful vintage equipment at such great prices out there. So little time left to restore them & get to play with them. LOL.
