For sale: Argentium & niobium pendant with opal
Edit... No longer available.... Can I delete this somehow?
(not) For sale: Argentium & niobium pendant with opal
I'm asking for $175. PM or email if you are interested.
Pendant only, chain or wife is not included.
The opal is Minitabi I personally cut. 100% untreated and natural. I didn't weigh it, but it is small...
The Argentium is .935 silver so it is better purity than sterling .925 and less likely to oxidize. Unfortunatly I don't have a .935 hallmark for Argentium yet.
The niobium has been anodized for the colorful pattern you see on the front and the secret colors on the back, amplifying The color you find in The opal.
Why does the silver bezel come through the Niobium like that? Niobium cannot be traditionally soldered, you need a argon atmosphere and a laser. By taking my unique aproach I was able to use my silver base to carry my opal through the Niobium. This is also why the Niobium is secured with tube rivers.
This price is based on my time and materials and uniqueness of The piece. This it's wearable art, not something from walmart. Thank you for looking.

That really is an awesome pendant, very different, which makes it very awesome!
I just noticed something about argentium wire, I've purchased form 2 places now, and only just now realized that most argentium wire is .935 (Such as what Rio Grande sells), but some places are selling argentium that is only .930, such as wirejewelry.com.
I too was looking for a hallmark stamp for argentium, but since I was using .930 wire, I couldn't find one, only a .935 stamp at Rio Grande. Also, the image argentium stamp is a Pegasus with wings...lol.
I have a .925 stamp, I guess I'll have to also eventually get a .935 stamp, and ensure I only buy the .935 and not the .930 wire. DOH.
Rio Grande has a stamp here:

Hope your pendant sells!

So... regarding US Law and Hallmarking. Apparently you're only supposed to stamp 925 etc if the piece is also stamped with a registered trademark.

This is interesting, it's what is written on the Rio Grand website about the argentium stamp:
This stamp does not certify the metal content of your pieces. ,To certify your metal content, you must also use your 925 or Sterling quality stamps. Only authorized users should mark their pieces with the Argentium® mark. To become an authorized user, visit the registration section of the official Argentium website (http://www.argentiumsilver.com). Registration is important to protect the reputation of Argentium and artists who use it. Registered users have free access to technical support articles and how-to guides as well as the opportunity to upload images of their own work to the design gallery on the official Argentium website, if they wish.

That's a very important find, Chris, and I'm sure everyone using Argentium will thank you for posting it.

Lol, one of my favorite movies!
Btw, On my android phone, I couldn't launch it from the link above. I had to seach for 97p3muRAqzY in the youtube app. Just in case anyone else had a problem with it. I tend to be tied to the phone since the kids took my computer(s)....
