That's the anodized Niobium. I just did a class on that with Bill Seeley from reactive metal studios.

Here's a good rio blog entry about it:

I now dream in color for my jewelry! 8-) just kidding, but it is inspiring! Our metals group paid to fly him out and teach us. I think I ended up dropping about 400 for the class, etc... (sorry Chris, that would of been lots of your wraps!) but it was my wife's anniversary gift to me to kick me back into jewelry mode. And it worked.

(Midlife crisis of a jeweler? NaH.. That would be a laser welder! )

Basic tools on this one... Silver flower earrings with triplet opals. I had traded for a small saw a year ago and the the move put me behind finishing the trade that included these earrings for his wife. Luckily he knew I would finish them, just glad to be getting the bench back up to do them!

The 6 petal version was a mistake that got tossed into the scrap bin. I decided the 5 petals looked better. But it was conceived and pictured only for prosperity.

Well done, BL, she's going to love them! That's great that the guy didn't pressure you during the move, and now we can look forward to seeing more of your work now that you're moved in and getting back to business with the fun stuff. :D
