Well, perhaps that epidote material isn't such great carving material afterall.

I was carving away at that eagle, and it just crumbled inn my hand and broke in half...lol.

It has some pretty serious fissures in the material, and it's really hard to see them until you cut down to them and expose them.
If it's a good piece, it's nice and solid, like those cabs I cut, but watch out for the flaws!
