Rainbow lightning in an opal

Post by PinkDiamond »

I saw this opal in a newsletter from our old home, OA, and loved the still pic so much I clicked through to see this beauty, which is breathtaking; mesmerizing to opalholics like us, so I have to share it with you, and guess what? It's for sale, with a current high bid of $111, and 10 days and 7 hours to go on the auction. And I confess that if I had money to play with and could afford to bid, I wouldn't be showing this to you until after the auction ended  , but since I can't, maybe one of you will want to snag it.

Check out this puppy from Caribbean Opals.

I found "tubes" like this also in my E opal parcels and occasionally that play of color when mining. I havent tumbled mine as the outside skins are much brighter than the insides polished. And when I only have one or a few....those end up specimens in the Swordfish Collection. Rolling flash moves in a small round unlike some flat surfaces. I believed they were called Girasol.
