After what seems like months, I'm finally getting back to the machine to do some work in stone.

Just got started on my intended project for the month, a combo of 6 different pieces to be combined into a concept piece/pendant.
Started the easy ones first, Mexican Fire Agate bug, and some teeth out of Orrums US Moonstone.

Biggest challenge will likely be to realize a small scorpion out of Dino Bone.... :)

In the meantime, finished up an Ugly Duckling leftover.
At least now it can be used as pendant.

Overcast rainy conditions, so colours are better at hand.....

Thanks for looking, Kurt

I was wondering where you were and what you were up to, and I love the snake FA. What a gorgeous polish you have on it, and I can't wait to see how you incorporate those pieces together. Nice, Kurt, you've chosen some interesting rocks for it and I hope it comes together exactly as you envision it. :)

Those smaller snakes can be the most deadly - looks like the FA beetle is in trouble!

Was racing to beat the rains.....
Wanted to have the water-tank ready before the rainy season starts.
Nearly done, just needs the metal-plate to close it safely and a nicer finish on the outside, but ready to test if it will hold water as needed.

Roof is sealed too, and prepared to direct water to the tank.

Outdoor sink is ready to receive water from the tank. Still needs pipes and proper channels to divert/dispose of used water.

Time to green up bare patches that I created along the way. So taking plants and brushes from the saddle to replant. Plus rolled in some boulders to complete the BBQ corner.

Weather was fine, actually way to dry over the past few months. Giving opportunity to get things ready on target for Easter. Took several trips at night without using flashlights to show friends and my kids just how bad "Light-pollution" is around here.

"Lucky" encounter. We just passed an area of the path that is overgrown, very dark, and known to have lots of sharp rocks on the path. So we had our torches on, and Krista noticed that fella laying across the path. I'm told by a young knowledgeable friend that this is a harmless Spotted Cat Snake, but cant help to suspect it might be a much more dangerous Pointed Scales Pitviper. Somehow in reference pictures, to me, the markings resemble the viper more than the harmless version.

Not much in regards to scenic pictures to be had. Air-pollution and haze is too strong, but still...

That's hilarious, Kurt, what a concept! It looks great so far, so what else do you plan to add?

I wondered if you were at the cabin working, and it's looking great with all the work you're doing. Thanks so much for sharing the pics and update with us. You're doing a great job with it. :)

I understand, this theme/subject is not for everyone's taste, but this is my protest about language use, where obscenities and foul words have become a norm that seems to be acceptable by a majority. Secondly: it sprung from recently flared up dealings with a relative that I have/had to endure for far to long already.

Slowly getting there. Lips, tongue and teeth are polished and fused.

Still struggling with accepting my limitations working the size of the scorpion. Not happy with overall shape. Tail needs to change, and I hope that will give the creature instant recognition.
Just to get an idea what size we are talking about.......

Its my own fault, pride does not agree with me getting magnifying visors yet,.... But cant put it off forever, I suppose.

LOL! No, as we age our eyes change shape, and most need magnification for close work. C'est la vie.

That is absolutely fantastic, and I can relate to your idea behind it since I live with a potty mouth, and it drives me nuts, and when I called him on it he actually tried to tell me he had Tourettes all of a sudden, like that's something you suddenly get when you're over 65. Aye carumba.
