Eugenie's padparadschah sapphire scores big with me, compared to Kate Middleton's beautiful blue sapphire, which is nothing to sneeze at in its own right, but for me, Eugenie's is a stunning engagement ring that I would love if it were mine. I just wish we could see a real closeup of it. Sweet!

"There’s a second royal wedding in the works.

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Princess Eugenie, Prince Harry’s cousin and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, will marry Jack Brooksbank this fall.

And naturally, there’s another dazzling engagement ring for us to ogle—and one that’s decidedly less traditional than Meghan Markle’s three-stone sparkler.

The princess’ engagement ring, revealed in the official engagement photos, features a blush-colored padparadscha sapphire center stone wreathed in white diamonds. The 27-year-old royal also wore a floral Erdem dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, People reports.

And there I was trying to afford a Alexandrite for Leah... I like Princess Eugenies better too.

I agree. Eugenies is a much better setting, better balanced.

Personally, I like the design of Fergie's (Eugenie's mother) ring better. They don't look much alike to my eye. I do think the pad sapphire looks better for everyday wear than Fergie's ruby, but I liked the pear-shape diamond surrounds better than the rounds in Eugenie's. The pears gave the ring a more dramatic and delicate starburst effect.

I would love the pad even better with the diamonds done like Fergie's ring, but do still prefer her pad to the ruby. Thanks so much for finding the closeup comparisons, y'all.
