Warmest welcome to the forum Michael and Margie. I'm so glad you made it! :D

I'm rooting for all of you and can't wait to see the entries. :!:

KJ, what is 2WEB? I assume it's a .com website that we can tune in to. And with the time difference, would that be later on today here in the States? :?:

I'm assuming it's this. http://outbackradio.com.au/

LR is 15 hours ahead of Central time zone. So right now it's 7/30 12:39 in OKC, but it's 7/31 3:39 AM in LR.

I don't think they're talking about the show though since they said morning and the gala is at night. The event starts at 7pm, which is 4AM in OKC. :/

But I'm gonna log in after work just to see what all's going on. I'm curious. :) When I get off at about 5:30PM it'll be morning there.

ok - broadcast will start at 6 PM Central, which is 9 AM in LR. So it's not the gala. But I'll prob tune in anyway.

I do like this type of forum way more than Facebook, have thought of removing my facebook page, yes we were at the 2013 awards, great night, we are around 6 hours drive from the Ridge, I will post our entry here after the awards night.

They're having some technical difficulties but will get started here soon. They're also going to interview the Pres, Lyn Carney, who was a great help to me getting my opals through customs.

Patience girl. We will hear soon enough where we ended up. :) :)

Thanks Margie for the info about judges notes, Lynn was very vague about it (just like with everything else in our communication a few months back). That girl must be a lawyer, or got one sitting right next to her. :) :) :)

I'm just looking forward to see if the event/contest lived up to the hype that the organizers where (trying to) make(ing) everyone belief.
In any case, it should be a feast for the eyes, finally seeing what everyone created.

As for the presumed "no showing pieces before the show": Personally, I think that the organizers loose participants through it, as any piece out in the open is an advertisement and reminder about the existence of the event. But on the other hand, established "artists", dont seem to bother with the show and tell, in most fields as they are often far to arrogant, self-centered, or simply too competitive, being in the game for having to win, and certainly not for the joy of creating in a competitive environment.

Apparently I don't have the right plug-in to listen to it. :?

Michael, you're thru the screening process now, so tell Margie to make one more post so she had free run of the forum, too. ;)

I think I would be happy to know what improvements I might need to increase my skills. That is worth more than a prize! :D. Alas, I doubt I'll get that from any judged notes that should ideally have comparable quauntative categories to look for. (polish, form, shape, uniqness, etc, etc...)

Oh well. Waiting...,waiting...
