Shell Patch may be producing Opals

A lottery was held in march for new claims in CP. Some Opal may be emerging from there and making its way onto the market.

Mostly paper white Opal with very bright color. The Indians, the curry ones not the woop woop ones, have driven the price for this material
through the roof. They love the white, the whiter the better.

Cool. I was just fondling a put away baggie of a couple oz of small thin pieces and was thinking the same. Such bright little lines in them. I just put one in my carving purse to file into a shape at some point in boredom with the other opals, jade and Carnelian chunks. I saw a video on the race for the one staking the "museum" wanted.

It is interesing as it was locked up due to native title claims in the 70s.
So it is as though the clock has been reset to 1977.

Here is some of the better material to come out so far, about $20k an ounce.
