Glad to see the forum up again!

I quit Facebook when I noticed posts from dead friends that they "liked" a page of a business... AFTER they had died! You are manipulated by FB and who they sell your info to.

Also stupid family members asking if I was coming to visit their state over holiday weekends, etc. Not something you want when they would youalso brag about the jewelry and precious stones they saw when visiting your basement workshop!

No, FB is not for me... IF someone wants to know, it's gonna be posted here or whatever's forum I use but always same username.

Speaking of forum, thanks Pink and OC for setting this up and your time involved. If you ever need help, let me know.

This is me over there https://www.facebook.com/john.church.10. There are a bunch of groups for opals or gems already. Search for groups usually gives up all the public ones, but not the secret ones that already have memberships. I notice several are going secret instead of public for reasons I'm not sure all of, but could easily be for spammers coming in to just sell everywhere they can. Somebody did just suggest an opalholic forum but I declined due to the other opal groups I am already in and these new groups tend to not get the good people out of the original topic groups. Offhand there is my Virgin Valley Opal Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/viginvalleyopal/, Banteen opal ones, Ethiopian Opal ones, Opal Fever, Opal Paranoia, opals of the world, Australian Opals group, not to mention Opal Auctions weaseling over to the bigger crowd. FB points out the crowd problem. It keeps splintering apart to small groups to keep cohesion within the groups that crowds can't maintain and it is subject to demagogues.
