Harry Winston Diamonds Headline Bonhams Sale

"On June 6, Bonhams will offer significant pieces by the king of diamonds, Harry Winston, in its annual New York Jewels auction, including a 29.29 ct. marquise-cut diamond set in a platinum ring with tapered baguette diamonds on each side (pictured above).
The ring, which dates to the late 1960s, has a presale estimate of $1.3 million to $1.9 million. It is one of several premier lots that come from “a distinguished European family,” according to Bonhams. Overall, the auction will have around 175 fine jewelry lots.
“This exquisitely curated collection features not only two magnificent diamonds—a 29.29 ct.-carat Harry Winston marquise and a 28.19-carat elongated step-cut—but a treasured assortment of elegant jewels featuring designs by Harry Winston, Fred Paris, and Van Cleef & Arpels,” said Bonhams’ director and head of jewelry in New York, Caroline Morrissey, in a statement.
“This collection is complemented by an impressive 25.51-carat unheated Ceylon sapphire ring, also by Harry Winston, from a collection in Palm Beach. To have such exceptional designs and stones from the golden age of Harry Winston throughout the auction is a rare phenomenon, and Bonhams is honored to share the legacy of these collectors with the world.”
