It's a dark and stormy day today with snow to the mtns forecast, but it was not raining. The loads paid for themselves yesterday from what I consider opal from the source is worth. I cant say I did great in the tailings as my bad legs/knees shot for a decade are sure slowing me down. I did find a hemlock? cone good enough to trade to the mine. Tiny potch cone, no POC. Didnt have a camera on me.

I did take a picture of this tiny thing...some time back. Something from the Miocene.

Everybody who showed up got opal and several their first opals or the best black they ever found. No, nobody was looking for a five gallon bucket to fill with woods either. I didnt get even get a third of what i usually could pick up. lack of trying, not lack of stuff on the tailings and looking at a couple days of rain and wind to refresh the whole surface and break down the new clods before next week end, it will be as if I wasnt there, less the handful of opal and bucket of woods i did pick up, and that face rock...
