What a riot, but the link leads to FB so I can't see anything or find out the price since I've always refused to be on the site. I'll just have to search somewhere else, although I doubt I'd buy it; but it would be a collector's edition. Maybe I would send that to my kids, although it wouldn't interest them the way it does me, so we'll see, but thanks for showing it to us OS. What a hoot that they made a Monopoly version just for us.

It only takes 64 pieces to make a Mandala set and you can get tumbled opals cheap to use as they come with a little selecting for size and shape. Cant have it easy to count the pieces now. i was trying to remember the name of the other one i got later: The Cattleman that was a lot like life.

the Game was created by Glenda Parlett from Lightning Ridge together with the local community in 2022
*there is not much info 'worldwide' and many people don't know about it

OA posted video on FB with Glenda showing the game
*with the link in the description to the original website but the site doesn't exist anymore  :!:

You can find more about the game in this short interview with Glenda >
https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/ ... y/13792116

*Limited Edition - first series was 'limited & numbered' (all sold)

Number#1 - is in the museum in Lightning Ridge

Number#2 > Special Unique Edition
- with Gold Plated 'Trucks' (game pieces) and Real mini Opals (inside couple pieces) will be auctioned soon :!:

 All profits from the 'special edition' auction will go to charity !
 plus 5% from every 'normal' game sold also goes to the charity !

I created my funny video just to spread the word and support the community 8-)
... plus the game is really cool and well made :D
I added the link to FB 'shop' because the org. site doesn't exist and it seems they use now only FB
*Rhonda & Bob are 'official' distributors

the game cost around 50-60$
*Beware - I saw somebody selling on ebay for $500 (aud?) !

hope this helps

It does help them. Thanks. I wish all these folks would realize blowing their own horns helps. Depending on others to think up where to advertise is kinda backwards. You would think they would think to make an account on all related sites, like here, but that is the "us only" Facebook approach. Ah EBAY. The never never land of free enterprise. I should sell there again or on opal auctions, but my issue is its not like Im selling something people are familiar with as opposed to have heard a LOT about. There was an older game of mining with opals as pieces I think. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/15422/coober-pedy

When it comes down to it...I'll be playing games instead of mining as it's easier than convincing people they want something. I imagine I'll never get thru what all I have out already at the rate I get around to selling it. Got a new set of micrometer and scales sitting in box in front of me, but i cant find the room to make a photo booth for the tripod & camera, lights to start on 30 years of put away for later & price it then. I think the term my mother used was cut off my nose to spite my face to describe my will.

I keep thinking there will be more that was stable as I go thru what Ive put away over the decades. The wet ones are still waiting for the magical process that stops the shrinkage or collectors for the art of them uncut in fossil form. Since somebody was always trying to steal them and send people after me, I never pointed out where they were coming from. I have sold a few mines that are still held as proof of whats in there. Since the lockdowns killed my in person business at shows finally, I have not figured out exactly how to get at 120 feet of display to show what can go. yesterday I cleaned about 20 lbs of psilomelane from a pocket and a bucket of bog opal/agate that has color sometimes, but none of that.

I will share the link around if they asked me to, otherwise that 50-60 dollars might buy something from me they aren't sending anybody to look at. I have forums they could post in/on if they were seriously marketing. For the good of the industry, despite whatever good the industry has ever done for us tiny miners and cutters, the industry has to recognize the ENTIRE industry, not just look at it all as buyers. I dont begrudge us joining the Australian Opal Miners Association at the beginning, just not getting enough sales to continue from that direction. The opals Sedawie bought here for resale never flew away.
