Opal pine cone comparison Swordfish Mining - Black Opal Direct

Post by SwordfishMining »

From Rainbow Ridge, dry since NINETEEN NINETY THREE. Just like the body piece of the snake head is dry despite putting the head in Glycerin, which also did NOT craze it since 1994. So much for the lies all the non Australian opal is worthless as it will crack and nothing can be done with it, even to look at it I guess. but I digress. That black mineral coating is sulphides (manganese, Iron)and would be black backing if left on the stone cut from the other way. I half wiped it off cleaning it with a stiff nylon brush.

A video from BOD of a cone that might be found in Australian aged deposits.
I was going to add several good pine cone videos but they must have been removed or Youtube/google does not want to show them over all the ads and off topic links instead of search results. Google has been broken from a library of knowledge you can search like a card catalog point of view.
