The unheated Kashmir sapphire ring is stunningly beautiful, but I like the ruby and diamond brooch best from this group. ;)

"Hindman’s Dec. 6 Important Jewelry auction in Chicago will feature jewels with diamonds and other precious stones of all cuts and varieties from several private collections along with sections dedicated to the estates of Marguerite Hark and Linda O’Neil Porteous as well as the Ernest and Ella Brummer collection.

“This auction showcases an array of important jewelry spanning centuries of jewelry history, with a little something for everyone,” said Hindman’s associate director and senior specialist of jewelry and watches, April Matteini, in a statement. “Each of the three single-owner sections demonstrates thoughtful collecting across very different periods and preferences, giving the sale a delightful variety of exceptional pieces.”

In addition to the gorgeous sapphire ring pictured above—which might sell for as much as half a million dollars—highlights include a classic Harry Winston diamond ring and a ruby and diamond “mystery-set” brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels. See them below.
