Hello from Toledo, Ohio!

Post by Brightlights »

Hello everyone, a sock monkey made mention that this is the new party spot for all things opal! Will they let anyone apply or do I have tip bribe my way in with pretty stones?

For those not in the know, my real name is Steve and I'm Ann opalholic. So much so, that I actually own the domain http://www.opalholic.com that points back to my OA page with some jewelry and stones that I've done in the past.

Been out of the picture for a while because I have two kids that shuck up my time and extra funds. Also Last year I had a brief health issue that the good Lord saw me through and then we bought a New(er) house and now I'm been working on moving into it. ( one rock at a time)

 Just a hint, Rockhounds should not move between residences because that means you probably have TONS of leaverite... that you might be stupid and decide to move to the other house because you plan on using it "some day". Right....Don't do it! Call me, I'll haul it away for you!

I also collect mineral specimens and work with our local rock club as past president and juniors moderators and lots of other hats that nobody else wants to wear to keep things moving locally.

Also, I mainly use my android phone for access to forums in my spare time (right...) so tapatalk support would be appreciated. I've Been off facebook almost two years, and don't plan on going back. So please don't ask me to do any of that social media stuff.

That's me... Brightlights!

Brightlights!! I'm so glad our favorite little sock monkey told you where we moved the party to, BL!! Warmest welcome, and come out to play with us whenever you can wrest the computer from the little varmints while gingie coaxes Chris to add an app for us so you can party with us on your phone. He's our tech guru but is busy moving so it may take a bit, but he usually surprises us with how fast he gets things done for us so keep checking. :D

thanks everyone for the warm welcome. yes when i can get the computer it will be easier. this one i found a little keyboard to hook up to the kids toy tablet but it works on my phone too! i could almost write a novel with this! much easier than swype or the thumb workout that i normally go through. :)

I'm trying to picture you using your kids' tablet and phone with the small keyboard, BL. I'm glad it works!

broseph82 says he uses the Safari browser to read the forums with his phone. Have you tried using it?

I don't usually have a problem using FF browser on the phone or tablets reading forums, but usually use Tapatalk on the phone for the RTH forum which is proboards.

well, it didn't last.. So I was back to the phone. I understand Chris not wanting to compromised the board, so no problems. I managed to get the laptop tonight. Anyways, Moving is going slowly, but all the BIG things are out, and 95% of the junk we seem to "Need" in our daily lives but that we really are just tooo lazy to do without!

One good thing I got to play with last week is Blueberries. From my Mother-In-Law in Pennsylvania. We've had muffins, pancakes, etc..etc.. last week I even started a Batch of Blueberry wine! I don't know if it will turn out, but figured it would be fun to try.
