Hello from Fort Collins, Colorado
Jan - @gingerkid - let me know things are moving around so I moved too!
I Live in Northern Colorado, married with 4 kids. 3 of the kids and I really love hounding so we get out as often as we can, camping in the remotest parts of Wyoming, Utah and even Nevada to hunt.
Planning on getting to New Mexico this year if it works out.
I've done *some* opal work, and I have a smattering of traded or gifted flashy opal that I have tried playing with but haven't done anything special with opal yet.
I've found large chunks of low grade fire opal and various common and dendritic opals in Wyoming but never found anything with flash.
I'm always doing and learning so I hope to do and learn a lot here, too.
Thanks for the recruit Jan!

Re: Hello from Fort Collins, Colorado
Thanks all, I'll wait until whatever threshold is required to not wait on moderation and then I'll share some trips/photos. They will be a repeat of another forum Jan and I are on but I'm happy to post them here if that doesn't break protocol.

Re: Hello from Fort Collins, Colorado
You are already thru the screening process since we only require 2 posts before you have full run of the forum, John, so you're already in.
We would love you to post your photos for us, and if you have difficulty uploading them you can find instructions I just gave to jim last night in his plant thread, so if clicking the attachment tab next to the options tab below a reply pane and following the instructions doesn't work for you, more info is there, and if you still have problems LMK and I'll see what I can do to help.

Re: Hello from Fort Collins, Colorado
OK so I took a massive road trip to Oregon last fall, I can post the entire trip if that is OK with the forum. I didn't find any opals tho.
