Does anyone here know WordPress (or know someone trustworthy that does)??? I'm asking because I need help with my project. I'm building a site where dealers and/or advanced collectors can post images. It's like Pinterest, only better (because you don't have to register to browse)...and I will be adding more features to make it much more fun. It'll be a community where antique and collectible dealers (and advanced collectors) can come together with the public, have a good time, and maybe sell or trade some merchandise. I have a beta version up and running for testing and input and I'd welcome any and all suggestions by email at jdcc4u@mail.com

I may use it to blog with, rarely, but I have no idea of the working's. Currently I'm trying to cut back my bloat in sites/groups/forums from over a hundred to a manageable amount to get my free me time back so I can finish retiring to be a gentleman miner.Register to browse could be to control shopping robots from using your bandwidth mapping your pages. I think I'm in Pinterest already but if I have to log in I click away and Instagram I didn't too. I can't find videos on Facebook, but they are right there on Youtube. So I have to post there then share it back somewhere else to be "published'. When it comes to opals, I want people to come to where I already am and read first before asking all the same questions. Thats the generalist in me staying out of cliches. From first blush, the whole time thing when I write books like this for comments, looks nice and clean. 101 groups- Joined LOL

The site looks great, but for me, just like on FB, the banner at the top never disappears and blocks nearly 1/2 the page leaving only about 60% of the screen visible to look at the items, which is quite annoying to have most of the page blocked by it.

1. Register to browse absolutely *is* to keep out the robots and spammers!
2. I'm working on a categories drop down menu so you can choose what you want to browse (saving time).
3. Forums initially will be for members only. Later there will be some forums that the non-registered public can use to ask questions.
4. This will be a niche site, topic specific to collectibles, antiques, jewelry, gems, etc. (no clothing, recipes etc. allowed).
5. You *MUST* register to BROWSE on Pinterest. Not so on my site. Anyone can browse. But you will have to register to post.

My whole concept is to keep it simple, easy to navigate and PROFITABLE to members. As it grows I will be adding optional fee-based features that will be even more profitable to members and there is where I will make a profit too.

I've been very, very busy (and learned a lot) since I posted this Wordpress topic 43 days ago!

I still have some issues with the categories and sub-categories, but I'm working on that. I'm also working behind the scenes on some pretty cool features that will make the site much more fun. Check it out. You can browse without logging in, but if you want to post your stuff or comment, you'll need to register. Or, just log in using facebook or twitter etc. Easy peasy.

Hi All, Site update.

First off, my apologies for not posting sooner. I've been putting in 15 to 20 hours a day and at 73, I am ready for bed after that!

The site is off line while my web developer and I are upgrading "Pin It". We're also adding other programs to make the site more useful (and profitable) to both businesses and the public.

My projected start-up is the first week in April. However, with any luck we'll be "up and running" sooner. I'll keep you posted.
