More Rarity in the Mineral Specimen World

Post by PinkDiamond »

This one from Ron Ringsrud's newsletter shows us a unique find with an emerald crystal on the same matrix as an aquamarine crystal, which does make sense since they're both beryls. It's just unusual to find them right next to each other on the same matrix, so this is pretty cool, and since this is from Ron's newsletter there's no link to more. :)

Just look at this specimen with both an emerald and an aquamarine in the same matrix!

This was reported on by Pala International in 2012 from a George Bosshart article about color. The late George Boshart was a Gubelin and SSEF Gemologist as well as a spectrometry expert. He died in 2012."
