Orange Mexican opal with POC

I saw this being offered by my friend Brad the Gem Trader, and have to show it to you. I wish I had cash to play with because even though I intensely dislike orange stones, this one is unique and I wish I could snag it. Bummer for me, but if anyone's interested, act fast because things don't stay unclaimed on Brad's site for long, and do let us know if you get it.

With the prevalence of Ethiopian gems in the market, it has been awhile since we have offered a Mexican gem. The classic orange bodycolor and varied play-of-color is really set off in this piece by the unusual cut - a double rose cut. The reverse of the gem is cut in the very same manner and the stone is essentially reversible. Lovely.
