Hey 8's

Nice Stones, I am assuming that these are Hessonite Garnet. The Hessonite a lot of times is referred to as the Cinnamon Garnet. One of the things that I noticed about these is that they are extremely clean. Sometimes they have a lot of thread in them. I have one that you would swear is a Nigerian Red Orange Spessartite. Another aspect of this stone is a royal ling effect, kind of like a big flashlight shinning back at ya. What do you plan to do with the stones if anything?

The 2 larger ones are Umba garnets, the others are from Tuduru and are spessartite. a couple of the spess. will really light up in the sun. I had one set in a ring for my husband, the jeweler-gemologist that it was a citrine. So he had to test it and it came up garnet glad I didn't have to pay for that. Some day I hope to sell them. :)

I confess to being an absolute garnet wonk :D This is an uncut 10ct cinnamon from Mali that I had for about an hour last year. I spent 1 hour going through a parcel for this and 2 other ones. Spent another hour or so taking the photo's and listing them and another 15min waiting until they sold. Shoulda kept this one for myself :D

Hi 8's

Here are the two Hessonites that I was talking about. I don't believe that I have seen any Umbra that color before. As a matter of fact I noticed the Mali rough that Pete just posted and I Know I have not seen any Mali that color.

Hey Ruffysdad aka Petar,

I know you don't have the rough anymore but I am real curious about that color of Mali.

A little more info on those Hessonites, the Emerald cut is from Sri Lanka and the Cushion is Nigerian.
