IIa Technologies is the sister company and main supplier for Pure Grown Diamonds

"Element Six has filed suit against IIa Technologies in Singapore, charging that the diamond grower has infringed on its synthetic diamond patents.

Element Six is a wholly owned subsidiary of De Beers, which grows diamonds for industrial purposes. IIa Technologies is the sister company and main supplier for Pure Grown Diamonds (formerly Gemesis), which has targeted the gem market.

An Element Six statement claims certain of its patents for producing synthetic diamond products have been infringed.

“Synthetic diamond material can be—and is—produced without infringing our patents,” said Walter Hühn, CEO of Element Six, in the statement. “We believe this is a straightforward case of patent infringement.”

The patents in question relate to production of material that has a combination of high-optical transparency in the visible and infrared spectral regions and low-crystalline stress, said a statement.

IIa Technologies’ executives and spokespeople did not return requests for comment."
