Winter cabs one more WIP
Purple Cow Agate before the holidays start.
A nightmare with all the vugs and dirt-spots, but good colour range and a paradise for Pareidolia. The longer one looks at it the more images appear.
Reminds me of Winterstorms rolling in.
The second cab comes from an unknown (to me) material.
Nice winter-scape, I think, front and back.
Thanks for looking, Kurt

Hi Kurt,
I love that Purple Cow Agate!
Where did you get it? I've actually never heard of it before. Do you have more to sell rough??
My wife loves everything purple...lol.

I'm not even sure that is the name of it.
Got it a few years ago from someone in the US.
Had two slabs. I'm afraid that's it.

Re: Winter cabs
That's OK Kurt, I'm always on the lookout for anything purple and affordable
I've been thinking of getting a few slabs of Bertandite or kaleidoscope jasper, or maybe some of that interesting looking purple grape opal, have you ever worked with that material?

Re: Winter cabs
Nope, I have never worked with any of the three.
Way too many materials out there, to try them all.
Just looked for something this past week to make a star, and found that I got enough material for at least 10 years, and yet still more coming!

Re: Winter cabs
To make a star? Do you mean a star shaped carving, or a stone that yields a star asterism??
Don't you know, you can NEVER have enough rough material!

Re: Winter cabs
Heck, can any of us have too many rocks, whether rough or worked?
Those are both great, and I love the winter storm in the purple. Really cool and I think most people can see that beautiful stormy turbulence in it. So what will you make of them?

Star shape. I was thinking of taking some white plumes like Stinking Water and center them in form of a star for a FB or RTH contest. Could not find any, so I took the purple cow.

Nothing really, they will go into the drawer, as so many before them to await being given away. Im not going to drill them, and don't have the finances to set them, so they await someone who wants them either way.
Too many rocks? ohh yes that does happen. I rent without contract, so I could have to move with a 3 month notice at any given time. And then every kg becomes important. But other than that, new things are still being added all the time.
