WIP Crysocola with Gem Silica Fish

Post by KKHK »

OK, sencond try of a fish scene is on the way Daniels Material

Don't know really what to call this material. Was told gem sillica, but while there surely are sections of the material justifying that title, I rather call is Gem Silica in Chrysocola.

After today

This is so much harder to do than the last one. The water-flow needs to work optically, otherwise that will never look right. Then comes the fish: I got no idea yet as to how deep I need to cut to allow the creature to be seen. So there is lots of experimenting ahead.

Two surprises already observed: contrary to the usual; sanding increases the color-strenght, and the dark blue/black on top might turn into purple/red.

Yes, very much potential in that one. I know you'll figure out how to pull that fish out perfectly Kurt. ;)

I wonder if the purple/red is cuperite (sp?)... Common in crysocola type ores. Could also have some green malacite or similar copper that the crysocola is colored with? I look forward to seeing what you find swimming in there!

Onm top of the wave there is Light green. Will try to keep it, so hardly re-sand there.
