Yes. Well aware of it. The Family Rainbow Peacock Mine in the Black Rock Desert by the Hog ranch had opal in basalt too. They closed. Private property in the area, but not the cliffs. The other precious is up high on Hart Mtn and the sides of the Columbia river. The decomposed layer needed ash on top of it with thriving forests on top of that. then eventually.... Precious can settle in. The finding it is the hard part. Its a lot easier digging where I sell claims in Virgin Valley Opal Mining District.
