Bonhams’ Upcoming Paris Sale Is Full of Rare Jewelry Finds

Post by PinkDiamond »

These are all great, and it's a mix of old style jewelry with quirky jewels like the fish, which is gorgeous, the dog, which is adorable, and the sweet bird in the last pic; but I have to wonder what the coral is supposed to represent in the lead pic which is repeated later in the article because there's a panther emerging from it so it would be nice to know what it's supposed to be. Cartier's Maillon Panthère necklace is the only one that impresses me enough to want it, but they're all lovely so check these out. 8-)

"On April 25, Bonhams is hosting a sale at its Paris location of some utterly fabulous and fantastical pieces of jewelry. The 160-lot Paris Jewels sale at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr will include whimsical vintage brooches, elaborate necklaces, and timeless jewelry designs from leading maisons such as Boucheron, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

“Paris Jewels features a delightful selection of gem-set animal jewelry,” said Marine Girardet, Bonhams’ head of jewelry in France, in a statement. “In addition to the menagerie, the sale has three lots from the private estate of Greek actress Kyveli, presented alongside exceptional diamonds, art deco designs, and rare, highly sought-after pieces of jewelry.”

Ahead of the big day, we take a look at some pieces in the Paris Jewels auction.
