JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of April 14

Post by PinkDiamond »

First up is JCK's Jewelry Agenda for this week, and I love the bracelet in the lead pic, as well as the watch Elvis gifted to his co-star, both of which we've seen before, and we're treated to a photo with an antique five-stone opal ring shown in this that we'd need to see in person to really appreciate since the photo doesn't do it justice, and the sugilite, coral and turquoise bracelet is fabulous. Here's the agenda for this week, and there's a link at the end of the article to find out more about the watch Elvis gave his co-star so use the link to access it. ;)

JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of April 14

"This week it’s a vintage and estate jewelry fiesta online and in New York City this week. But first, one of the year’s most well attended jewelry-community gatherings, AGS Conclave, kicks off tomorrow in Austin. So if you haven’t given Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album a listen yet, may we suggest you add it to your playlist now? We can’t think of a better way to prep for an industry event in the Lone Star State.

ATTEND

AGS Conclave in Austin: April 15–17 (in person)

The industry will converge on Austin, Texas, an attractive (read: hip and happening) setting for this annual event known for its networking opportunities and robust programming. The 2024 gathering, as previewed by JCK, welcomes keynote speaker Jesse Cole, owner of the Savannah Bananas exhibition baseball team, plus a diverse lineup of experts, including bestselling author Dr. Tasha Eurich, an organizational psychologist, and Peter Katz, a singer-songwriter, at the final breakfast, on April 17.

NYC Jewelry & Object Show: April 18–21 (in person)

The second edition of this vintage and estate jewelry show will convene at New York City’s Metropolitan Pavilion and welcome favorite exhibitors such as Ishy Antiques, Jewels by Grace, Sandy Jacobs, Spare Room Antiques, and Treasure Fine Jewelry, among others.

BID

Doyle’s Important Jewelry Sale: April 18, noon ET (in person and online)

Charles Loloma gold, sugilite, coral, and turquoise bracelet, signed; estimate $8,000–$12,000 (photo courtesy of Doyle)

Bid in-person or online at this live auction of more than 300 items spanning the antique, Victorian, Edwardian, art nouveau, art deco, and modern eras by prestigious makers, including Van Cleef & Arpels, David Webb, and Tiffany & Co. We have our eyes on the Loloma bangle pictured above, a remarkable two-tone Cartier necklace, and these delicious electric purple earclips by JAR. There will also be a selection of fine watches from Rolex and Patek Philippe.

Bonhams’ Fine Watches Sale: starts April 20 (online)

The headline from this online sale (April 20–30) hosted by Bonhams has to do with one Elvis Presley—specifically a vintage Baume & Mercier gold and diamond watch that he gifted to actress Dodie Marshall (“my greatest love,” according to the inscription), who costarred with him in two movies. JCK contributor Annie Davidson Watson gets into the backstory here."
