Jewelry Factory Supervisor Stole and Sold Metals, Says DOJ

Post by PinkDiamond »

Here's another idiot who thought he could get away with theft, absconding with metal scraps and selling them to enrich himself, so he's facing charges, but what gets me is he's been doing this since 2018, so why is he only being charged with one count of entering into unlawful money transactions. I realize it was the same crime over and over for the past 6 years, and they can't possibly know how many times he actually sold the scrap metals, but it just seems wrong to charge him with only one count after he's been doing it for years. Here's what he was doing and what they're charging him with. See if you think the charges fit the crime(s). :?

An affidavit filed by Internal Revenue Service special agent Rebecca Limage said that Preacher admitted the theft to company officials and told them he’d been stealing and reselling metals since 2018.

According to the affidavit, the defendant had been hocking precious metals to a Massachusetts dealer at least twice a month for the last three years. Sales to that dealer are believed to have exceeded $1 million, Limage said.

A law enforcement search of Preacher’s North Attleboro, Mass., home found more scrap metal, and employees at the jewelry company believe some of the items discovered there originated at their facility, the filing said.
