You Could Feel the Jewelry Kenergy at the Academy Awards

Post by PinkDiamond »

This one from JCK is good since it shows us the celebs wearing the jewels, and then shows us closeups of certain pieces they wore so check these out. I think I like Roberto Coin's tsavorite and diamond earrings with the pearl drops worn by Cynthia Erivo best because they resemble 2 stacked bells to my eye. 8-)

"The 2024 Oscars ceremony was warm, witty, and wildly entertaining for its unexpected moments and its award-worthy jewelry selections, with Hollywood stars memorably showing off glittering earrings, beautiful brooches, and gorgeous gemstones.

From Emma Stone partying during Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” vocal triumph to Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s tearful and celebratory acceptance speech, the 96th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 10 provided ample entertainment and “Did you see that?” segments that we’ll rewatch on YouTube for days to come.

Oh, and there were awards. Oppenheimer walked away with Oscars for Best Picture, Actor (Cillian Murphy), Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Director (Christopher Nolan), Original Score, Editing, and Cinematography.

The jewelry—and who wore it best—gave the night some classic Hollywood artistry. Perhaps the most successful styling came on revered veteran performers like Rita Moreno in Verdura, Jessica Lange in Martin Katz, and Catherine O’Hara in Smiling Rocks and Rahaminov Diamonds earrings.

Men’s jewelry continued its brooch party, making every lapel shine with diamonds and vintage pieces—among them, a Jewels Aficionado antique brooch in platinum and diamonds on Justin Theroux. Jon Batiste’s Jared ring stack made his musical performance that much more electric to watch—and hopefully starts a jewelry trend on men everywhere.

Here are some of JCK’s favorite Oscar jewelry looks.

Cynthia Erivo in Roberto Coin

A two-time nominee in 2020 and star of the upcoming Wicked film adaptation, Erivo got rave reviews with eye-grabbing pieces from Roberto Coin: tsavorite and diamond earrings with pearl drops ($45,000), a platinum emerald and diamond bracelet ($215,000), an 18k gold pavé diamond princess star ring ($13,750), and an 18k gold diamond princess flower ring ($15,400).

America Ferrera in Pomellato

Supporting Actress nominee Ferrera was a vision in Barbie-inspired pink, and her jewelry made her stunning dress even more of a vibe. Ferrera wore Pomellato’s Ode to Milan Castello necklace featuring rubellites and diamonds and Ode to Milan Castello ring with a rhodolite garnet and diamonds.

Rita Moreno in Verdura

It could be argued that no one had a better time at the Oscars than Moreno, a winner in 1962 for West Side Story. Moreno paid heartfelt tribute to Ferrera during the Best Supporting Actress presentation and stole the show with a look that included Verdura’s gold, platinum, and diamond Lily bracelet and vintage Verdura gold, platinum, and diamond Twisted Horn earclips.

Jessica Lange in Martin Katz

Talk about a woman in full: Lange showed beauty and grace as she stood among other former Best Actress winners to present this year’s award. Lange wore a Martin Katz sapphire and diamond hexagon ring in platinum, cushion and half-moon diamond earrings microset in 18k white gold, and a stack of 18k white gold white diamond microbands.

Margot Robbie in Boivin and Suzanne Belperron from Fred Leighton

Robbie truly is a living doll, but she also is a smart, successful movie producer whose Barbie became the most talked-about film of the year. From Fred Leighton, Robbie wore a 1980s diamond and gold twist cuff by Boivin and a 1940s gold and diamond bombe ring by Suzanne Belperron.

Catherine O’Hara in Smiling Rocks and Rahaminov

O’Hara is comedy royalty and a mighty fine actress to boot, so to see her draped in diamonds felt appropriate. She wore a ring and the Dream 14k white gold necklace with 54 lab-grown diamonds, totaling 74.65 cts., from Smiling Rocks’ high jewelry collection. Her Rahaminov earrings had nearly 20 carats of pear- and oval-cut diamonds.

Sterling K. Brown in Boucheron

Brown was considered one of the best-dressed men with his Boucheron barrette brooch. He was up for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for American Fiction. His costar (and Best Actor nominee) Jeffrey Wright also sported a brooch on his lapel, as did last year’s and this year’s Best Supporting Actor winners, Ke Huy Quan and Robert Downey Jr.
