Marrow Fine’s Kaleidoscope Dazzles With Color

Post by PinkDiamond »

Her designs are rather simple and pleasing to the eye if you're not looking for symmetry, and the gemstones she uses are hand-sourced so she's not just buying willy-nilly even though her use of various cuts together may appear as if she does to some. They're very nice, each one is unique and one of a kind, and they appear to be well made, and although none of them are my cup of tea, the only one I dislike is the cigar band ring. Check these out; there are opals in at least three of them, the best ones probably being those in the second ring and the last pic. :)

"For Christmas, I bought my girls a kaleidoscope. It was just a little thing, intended to be a stocking stuffer that I assumed wouldn’t amount to much fuss.

In a sea of toys and games, I was surprised to see this unassuming kaleidoscope become a favorite, and not just for the kids—even the grown-ups could’ve passed it around for hours, mesmerized by the galaxy that we seemed to access with a tiny peep.

I still find myself reaching for that kaleidoscope. It has a calming effect, watching the shift of colors and shapes, and the glimmer (our version was mixed with glitter).

The newest collection from Marrow Fine demonstrates an understanding of that trancelike power of the kaleidoscope. Inspired by designer Jillian Sassone’s memory of her grandfather’s kaleidoscope, the collection plays with the shapes and colors one might encounter when peeking through a kaleidoscope lens—a harmony of optical illusions.
