This lovely woman will leave her normal position at De Beers for a two year stint working with Botswana's ministry of minerals and energy to help them with marketing and branding for their diamonds, so good for her and I hope we see the evidence of her work soon enough.

"Pat Dambe, who has spent the last eight years as De Beers’ head of corporate affairs, has been “seconded” to Botswana’s ministry of minerals and energy, where she will work on marketing and brand development for natural diamonds.

A “secondment” means someone is removed from their regular post for a temporary position elsewhere. Dambe will work at the ministry for two years, promoting natural diamonds and the Botswana diamond story globally. She also will help the country increase its participation in the diamond value chain. Dambe’s specific focus will be the U.S. market.

“By collaborating with critical stakeholders, she will play a vital role in ensuring the country innovates and adapts to meet changing consumer demands while promoting the provenance of Botswana diamonds,” said a statement from the ministry.
