Britt’s Pick: Ashaha’s Dehya Cuff Bracelet

Post by PinkDiamond »

I would never have thought of putting opals and diamonds with plexiglass, but Ashaha did and it makes for a very interesting piece of jewelry where the opal and diamonds seem to be floating over the arm. The photo isn't even good enough to show but a vague hint of color in the opal, but there's a sub-link at the end of the article to a larger version of the cuff that has a photo of it being worn, so I posted it below the article. Check this out and get your opal fix for the day. 8-)

"What better way to kick off 2024 than with a statement? We start the year with the best intentions and hope that we can keep them all the way through. If anyone was looking to be a little bolder this year—in either attitude or attire—have I found the cuff bracelet for you.

From Paris-based jeweler Ashaha, the Dehya cuff offers a big look that’s the epitome of modern chicness, with a plexiglass design that goes somewhere totally unexpected. We’ve seen clear jewelry before—a bangle or a ring, for example—but this style pairs the acrylic material with 10k yellow gold, combining a blue opal center stone with a flurry of diamond-dotted triangles for a striking style that feels fresh.

“The transparent plexiglass cuff stands as a distinctive testament to the brand’s commitment to avant-garde design inspired by Amazigh Berber roots,” says Ashaha founder Oumaima Benharbit. “This bespoke piece is a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and cultural heritage, featuring a central opal and meticulously cut triangular diamonds. The geometric shapes incorporated into the design pay homage to the rich traditions of the Berber culture, creating a visual narrative that is both captivating and culturally resonant. The innovative use of plexiglass not only adds a modern touch but also serves as a canvas for the interplay of light, enhancing the brilliance of the central opal and diamonds. This cuff is a wearable masterpiece that transcends conventional jewelry, seamlessly marrying traditional influences with cutting-edge design, making it a truly unique and remarkable expression of Ashaha’s vision.”

This version has a green tint to the plexiglass, which aids in bringing out some of the opal’s vivid color. Ashaha also offers a similar bracelet in all-blue, with a blue opal and blue diamond triangles. For those wishing for an even larger statement, see the brand’s Anzar cuff—a wide bracelet featuring a 3.9 ct. glimmering opal ... "
