Taco Bell Created Diamonds From Taco Shells

"Taco Bell Canada is giving away four 1 ct. diamonds produced from taco shells to two “bestie duos” in a social media contest.
The diamonds were grown through a “process that took more than 12 months, at a top-secret, undisclosed location,” the company said. “Diamonds serve as an ode to the perfectly imperfect nature of tacos,” the corporate statement added.
“Taco Bell is all about celebrating life’s messy moments and embracing what it means to be imperfect,” said Devon Lawrence, marketing director for Taco Bell Canada, in a statement. “The idea that even something as beautiful as diamonds have imperfections reinforces our brand mantra to ‘live más’ and celebrate our authentic, messy, and beautiful selves.”
To officially unveil the diamonds, Taco Bell is hosting a pop-up event celebrating best friends in Toronto on Dec. 1 and 2.
Lab-grown diamonds, like their natural counterparts, are made out of carbon. For that reason, people have been able to create diamonds from a variety of objects, including peanut butter, dead bodies, and even human waste.
