"This week has a little something for everyone. Gem lovers will want to check out GemGenève, craft lovers will be drawn to the Contemporary Craft Show in Philadelphia, and auction lovers won’t want to miss Phillips’ online jewelry sale. But if you only have time to attend one event this week, make it the Women’s Jewelry Association’s 40th-anniversary Ruby Gala on Nov. 2 in New York City. Happy birthday to one of the industry’s bedrock associations!

WJA ruby gala inviteThe Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) celebrates its 40th anniversary—and four decades of empowering women in the jewelry and watch industries—this Thursday at its Ruby Gala at the Pool in the iconic Seagram Building in New York City. Festivities include a red-carpet entrance with photography by Patrick McMullan via Getty Images, a cocktail reception, aerialist performances, an auction led by renowned auctioneer and gemologist Caroline Ervin, and a diamond-themed dance performance.

GemGenève opens at Palexpo in Geneva on Thursday. The international gem and jewelry show features a mix of exhibitors—including designers (Elke Berr Creations), gem dealers (100% Natural by Nassi), diamantaires (Rosy Blue), and emerging names (Capucine H)— and is a great place to discover international talent.

Contemporary Craft Show in Philadelphia: Nov. 3–5 (in person)

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show at the city’s convention center returns for its 47th year. Nearly 50 jewelers, including Petra Class, Geoffrey Giles, Barbara Heinrich, Rebecca Myers, and JacQueline Sanchez, will have pieces on display and for sale, alongside work—in ceramics, furniture, glass, leather, and more—by some of the nation’s most talented artisans.
