Connecticut Jeweler To Give Away 2-Carat Lab-Grown Diamond

Post by PinkDiamond »

They're doing this in celebration of their 75th anniversary, and it's not a bad idea since it draws attention to them as well as lab-grown diamonds, and costs a lot less than a natural diamond of like quality would even at half the size of this lab-grown. ;)

"Glastonbury, Conn.—On July 27, Baribault Jewelers will give away a lab-grown diamond to a soon-to-be-engaged couple.

The Connecticut retailer said the 2-carat colorless diamond is a “B Lab” diamond— the brand name Baribault gives to the lab-grown diamonds it sells in its store— and is valued at $6,000.

When asked about the valuation on the lab-grown diamond given the recent price declines in the category, Baribault Jewelers stood by the $6,000 figure, stating it, “only sells the highest quality lab-grown diamonds, which are GIA-certified, E [color] VS [clarity], [grown] using the CVD process and cut to perfection.”

The lab-grown diamond featured in the giveaway currently retails for $5,500 plus tax at the store.

To be eligible for the giveaway, couples must follow Baribault Jeweler’s Instagram page and do the following:

— Schedule and attend a complimentary, in-person bridal appointment at the store between now and July 26;
— Complete an official raffle entry in store; and
— Attend the winning couple announcement on Instagram on July 27 at 11 a.m.

“When you finally find the person whom you want to spend the rest of your life with, there’s a lot of planning to do before you walk down the aisle, most notably, shopping for an engagement ring that fits your budget,” said Lewis Baribault Jr., co-owner of Baribault Jewelers.

“We want to make this process easy by offering one of the most luxurious trends in bridal jewelry today—a lab-grown diamond—to be set as one’s engagement ring.”

The giveaway is part of the jeweler’s ongoing 75th anniversary celebration.

“We attribute our success over the past 75 years to our welcoming and thriving community that has sustained us, and the 2-carat lab diamond giveaway is just another extension of our extreme gratitude,” said Baribault.

The giveaway also commemorates the launch of the Glastonbury store’s new B Bridal “Engaged Couples Experience,” which was recently debuted for couples shopping for engagement rings together.

“According to a recent survey in Brides magazine, 62 percent of couples now go engagement ring shopping together rather than one person doing it solo,” said Baribault.

“Our ‘Engaged Couples Experience’ is designed to address this timely trend, pamper the couple, and take the stress out of finding the perfect ring.”

The Engaged Couples Experience consists of a champagne toast, a consultation to discuss ring type, style and budget, a 10 percent discount on wedding bands, and a separate consultation with the groom to plan a proposal with creative input from the team.
