Fragments of opalized dinosaur bone

Post by Mila »

The seller did not recognize what he was selling and split it into 4 pieces.
Too bad! Of course, if he knew what he had, I probably would not have even seen it all.
He sold it for $77. His pictures were not great and so I was not sure what it was before I got it.

Wow, Mila, another great score for you, and that's amazing. Did you tell him what it was? I'm curious if cutting it might have helped expose more color. Congrats again on another great buy. :!:

Thank you! It is not a bone. It is a partial LUNG FISH FOSSIL tooth plate.
To respond your question, PinkDiamond, the splitting did bring more color. It opened the bars,
but this should have never been split. Fossil should be kept as they were found.
I am going to tell the seller what it was.
